Mother taught me about freedom when she'd open her arms to welcome the world. I watch the wind touching their skin layers as they close their eyes. There is no separation between body[n]soul neither time[n]space in that mo(ve)ment. We are whole. Part of one another. Carrying so much of the same inside. I now find mother's presence in many different places. I feel a sense of completeness taking hold in my chest. I know its here. It's there. It's everywhere.

CITY
LET ME DANCE YOUR HARSHNESS,
Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.
Jane Jacobs
My work is a movement of exploration: the deepest feelings and parts of myself that constantly get lost in the patriarchal system. I focus on exploring the relationship between body, movement, and space in order to reflect the interactions of emotions, gender, and politics. As well as the messages exchanged between the speaker and the receiver. As a performance artist from Brazil, I’m also deeply influenced by my couture. The liberating relationship with the body ran through the veins of my ancestors.
I believe that our capacity to feel and be connected to our bodies can bring us a completely different experience- as a collective. When we connect with ourselves, we can learn to respect our processes, and connect to others within their own spaces. Creating together as if we were stepping onto our own common ground.
ABOUT ME
I'm Mica, a Brazilian artist. I discovered my passion for visual arts during my bachelor's degree in architecture and urbanism. I felt uneasy when I realized architecture planning often led me to focus on affluent organizations or wealthy individuals. While exploring the impact of our systems on cities and relationships, I felt compelled to delve deeper into how our bodies influence the way we construct environments and communities.
My interest is in exploring the intersections of political activism and eco-feminism, centering on the challenges inherent in my human experience.
